Chile has the largest known lithium reserves in the world.
One of the most used applications of lithium is in batteries, allowing the storage of high electrical charge densities in small spaces.
Lithium is defined as a soft, silver type of metal found in the ocean and
earth’s crust and It is said to be the lightest of the metals. Lithium has become vital within today’s modern society due to its lightness and ability to hold high power for batteries across digital appliances (i.e., laptops, cellphones) and other gadgets (i.e., home appliances).
Commercially, lithium is also used amongst a wide variety of miscellaneous uses (i.e., ceramic and glass, lithium soap, lithium polymer etc) and increasingly becoming used in electric car industries worldwide.
